New Ontario road rules come into effect this fall
TORONTO – Ontario transportation officials are reminding motorist to be aware of new provincial road rules coming into effect this fall.
CAA South Central Ontario (CAA SCO) has launched its Heads Up! campaign to remind drivers of changes to the province’s Highway Traffic Act.
Fines for distracted drivers will increase from the old range of $60 to $500 to between $300 to $1,000, plus three demerit points.
Fines for opening a door into the path of a cyclist will increase to the same amounts as for distracted driving, and motorists must leave a one-metre distance when passing bicycles.
Fines will increase from $20 to between $60 and $500 for bicyclists who do not use a light and reflectors or reflective material.
“Public education is key to tackling persistent, unsafe driver behaviour and I look forward to continuing to raise awareness with the CAA, police and our other valuable road safety partners,” said Steven Del Duca, Minister of Transportation in a media release.

They came as slaves: human cargo transported on British ships bound for the Americas. They were shipped by the hundreds of thousands and included men, women, and even the youngest of children.
Whenever they rebelled or even disobeyed an order, they were punished in the harshest ways. Slave owners would hang their human property by their hands and set their hands or feet on fire as one form of punishment. Some were burned alive and had their heads placed on pikes in the marketplace as a warning to other captives.
We don’t really need to go through all of the gory details, do we? We know all too well the atrocities of the African slave trade.

President Obama honored the lives lost in the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church massacre at the funeral of one of its victims, the Rev. Clementa Pinckney.
President Obama uses the emotional power of song to help people overcome the pain of those lost.
Obama knew Pinckney personally and delivered a stirring eulogy.
The speech was fantastic. It wasn’t just about life, death, and the painful circumstances that took Pinckney’s life. It also spoke to many of the struggles we have as a country when it comes to race and class and everything in between.
Toward the end, he started speaking about the amazing grace of those who had lost their lives. The grace all of us need to move forward. And of course, the grace of the one man they had come to honor:

A new Islamic State video threatened to slaughter people in the streets of Paris.
The short clip, showing the execution of a regime soldier by an ISIS jihadist, featured a direct threat to attack France.
The video shows a soldier in Bashar Al-Assad’s army forced to his knees in the desert. The executioner then issues a series of threats and proclamations, saying:
“A message that we send to the French that are fighting Allah, praised and exalted be he, and his messenger, may Allah honor him and grant him peace. A message that we send to the international coalition, a message that we send to everyone who fights Allah, praised and exalted be he, and his messenger, may Allah honor him and grant him peace.

Chad police: Anyone wearing face veils will be arrested
Authorities vow to implement ban on veil a day after Boko Haram bomber disguised as woman attacked market in capital.
Chadian police have said anyone wearing a full-face veil will be arrested, a day after a Boko Haram suicide bombing – carried out by an attacker disguised as a women wearing one – left 15 dead.
Saturday’s attack at a market in the capital, N’Djamena, also injured 80 others and spread panic across the city. The assailant detonated an explosives belt when he was stopped for security checks at the entrance to the city’s main market.

Would the British government agree to take them all? What of the British people? And if they did agree, what would the British government and people do with all the migrants? How would they cope?
Well, Italy has been invaded in just this way, by migrants from many nations all coming over here from Libya. And Italy’s unelected government has agreed to take them all. I got it. Never let the Europeans forget slavery…. But why dont they teach that the Islamic nations sold whites and blacks into bondage as well.
