LONDON (UPI) -- Actor William Shatner has admitted he never watched a single episode of "Star Trek," the U.S. TV series that propelled him to international fame.
Known internationally as Capt. James T. Kirk of the Starship Enterprise on the 1960s series, Shatner said he never watched any "Star Trek" episodes or any of the numerous films spawned by the popular science fiction show, The Daily Telegraph reported Saturday.
"I have not even seen any of the 'Star Trek' movies. I don't watch myself," Shatner told the British newspaper.
"When I direct and have to look at filmed scenes of myself, I suck."
The 76-year-old actor also confessed to avoiding episodes of his current TV series, "Boston Legal." Shatner's performance on the ABC drama has earned him both a Golden Globe award and an Emmy.
The Canadian-born thespian told the British newspaper he regrets not keeping any "Star Trek" memorabilia, items that would be lusted after by the series' loyal fans.
"I've kept nothing. Given the choice at the time of having a 'Star Trek' shirt or a designer suit, I'd have taken a suit," he said.
"I should have known better."
