Arguably the most famous frontiersman our country's ever known, Davy Crockett's life has become the stuff of legend. Born the fifth son to John and Rebecca Hawkins Crockett in 1786, Davy was destined to be a doer. He wrestled bears, fought Indians, settled land. He served in congress from 1827-1831. He married twice and fathered two children. All this without much of a formal education.
