One of the most significant voice actors of the 1990s has unfortunately passed away. Christine Cavanaugh provided the voices for many characters known to the children of that decade, including Chuckie Finster on Rugrats, Gosalyn Mallard on Darkwing Duck, and Oblina on Aaahh!!! Real Monsters.
As reported by the Los Angeles Times, Cavanaugh passed away at the age of 51 on December 22, 2014. She was born and raised in Utah and later attended the University of Hawaii before moving to California to start her acting career. Her role on Darkwing Duck led to further voice acting opportunities, such as Bunnie Rabbot in the Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon and as Marty Sherman in The Critic.
In 1995 she landed two of her biggest roles: the titular characters in Cartoon Network’s Dexter’s Laboratory series and in the film Babe. She retired from voice acting in 2001 but left behind a body of work that the children of the 1990s is sure to remember.
